9月も後半になりました。

今年のキッズのハロウィーンパーティもちょうど1か月後の10/19（日）の予定です。

パーティにはコスチュームが必須。

講師たちも全員同じようにコスチュームがいるため、毎年この時期はみんな案を頭の中でねっています。

本当のハロウィーンは10月31日で、それも夜に戸外で行うものだから、コスチュームが薄着のものであると相当寒いです。

ですが私たちのパーティは日中、そして晴れの国岡山は10月でも陽気な日は暑いもの。

クーラーを入れることもしばしばあります。

そのため、コスチュームを考えるときは被り物を含め、暑くなりそうなものは避けています。

ただ、今年はお盆前から天候不順。

秋の訪れも早いです。

今年はhead pieceを含めたものを選んでも大丈夫かなと思いながらコスチュームをインターネットで検索の日々です。

On Tuesday, Satoshi made his television debut. He was on a local news program on NHK. At the end of the program, they usually show a few photos sent in by viewers. Well, Ayumi's father often watches this show and he decided to send in Satoshi's picture. They selected his picture and contacted him to tell him that he would be featured. NEOでレッスンを受けてくれている生徒さんたちの中でも中・高校生たちもいます。

ちょうど中学3年生たちは部活を引退する時期。

そんな中、T君が忙しかった夏も終了し、サッカー部を引退しました。

もともと中・高校生クラスに参加予定だったのですが、その曜日が部活の練習や試合に被るため、引退までは同じレベルの大人クラスへ入ってもらうことで春が始まりました。

そして9月に入り、部活は引退。

本来ならば予定通りの中・高校生クラスへ移動するはずですが、敢えて大人クラスに残ります。

珍しいことに、この大人クラスがたまたま男性が多く、そのうえその人たちがサッカーにもともと興味を持っているため話題があったことです。

小学3年生からレッスンへ来てくれているT君も思春期になり、男の子らしく寡黙な雰囲気になってきていました。

当初は心配していたのですが、大人の男性たちにまざり、同じ興味を持っていることが功を奏したようで、ご本人が楽しく通ってくれている、とT君のお母さんが教えてくださりました。

T君、この冬は受験です。

昔、おふざけでダジャレを言っていた姿が思い出されます。

Today I went to the Hayashibara Museum of Art, next to Okayama Castle, to see an exhibit called 「武士のダンディズム」. The exhibit showed how fuedal lords and samurai from the Edo period spent a lot of money and effort to personalize their armor and swords. There was not much fighting in Japan during the Edo period, so the warriors had more time to look good, instead of training and fighting all of the time. 

It was my first time to go to the Hayashibara Museum, it wasn't so big, but it was nice. The exhibit will run until the 15th of this month, if you are interested in going.

皆さんは満月を見られましたか？

私はすっかり忘れていました。夜の生徒の方から教えてもらい、一緒に見学しました。

その時にHal先生もいたのですが私が、"I can see a rabbit!."と言ったところ、

"A rabbit? It's a cheese!"と言われてしまいました。

日本では餅つきをしているうさぎなのに、アメリカではチーズになってしまうんですね。

アメリカに2年半すんでいても知らないことばかりです。

文化の違いはおもしろい！と思った瞬間でした。
