Next week, Dave will be on Radio MOMO. He will be on with Chiaki Kamibeppu in 「Let's Enjoy English!」. The program is about 15 minutes long. Chiaki and Dave will practice some basic English conversation talking about jobs.

When is the last time you went to the dentist? One of our students at NEO, Kazuhisa, is an orthodontist (a kind of dentist). Last week, he and a colleague opened a new dental clinic in Tamasu. Parts of the building were designed by Taro Gomi, a famous artist and author of children’s books. The clinic was featured on the local news. Take a look!
Kazuhisa doesn’t appear in the video, but his role in this project was business partner and consultant. He was deeply involved from the very beginning. During planning and construction, he sometimes talked about it in class. He worked long and hard to get to this point, but the clinic is finally open.

5月のゴールデンウィークにあたる5/3と5/4にわたり、岡山市で100キロを歩くイベントがあります。
もう始まって10年ほどになるそうですが、4年ほど前から私たちは知っており、今年ようやく実際にDaveがエントリーしました。
ラジオで最近お世話になっている生徒さんCさんもエントリーされ、もう練習を始められています。
後楽園から閑谷学校へ向けて歩き、帰ってくるという工程で、何時間も歩くことになるため夜通し歩くことにもなります。
マラソンのように救護班も必要になりますが、表面では見えない準備などでの大勢のボランティアが必要とのこと。
興味のある方は是非短時間でもいかがでしょうか？
この100キロウォークで主だって動かれている方の中に元NEOの生徒さん（Dr. M）がいらっしゃいます。
通常は病院勤務で大変お忙しくされていらっしゃるのですが、救護班として待機されるようです。今年は昨年の参加者を大幅に増やし1000人目標としているため、ボランティアの協力が欠かせないとのこと。
今後もこのイベント継続のためにボランティアの数が集まりますように。
