Yoro

Last week I went to Nagoya to visit some friends.  While I was there, we did a short daytrip to Yoro, a small town on the border of Gifu. Yoro is notable for having a nice hiking trail, a waterfall with a nice ryokan nearby, and a great view of the Nagoya area.

We thought it was going to be a casual hike, but there turned out to be a lot of snow on the mountain. Some places were very slippery and maybe a little dangerous. And the snow got surprisingly deep. But we made it to the lookout point! It was an incredible view - downtown Nagoya looked very small in the distance.

If you're spending any time around Nagoya, it's a good way to get out of the city and into nature for a few hours.
