岡山の有名な猫を知っていますか？
高梁にいますよ！
山の頂上にある雲海で有名な備中松山城に「さんじゅーろー」という猫城主がいるんです。
城のホームページによると、見つかる前に腕白な「さんじゅーろー」は山の周りを一人で冒険していたらしいです。まだ猫城主になる前のちっちゃい時、数週間失踪したこともあって、城の管理人を心配させたそうです。
今、８歳になった「さんじゅーろー」は毎日境内でゆっくり過ごしています。私たちが行った時は、入り口に隣接している小屋でくつろいで伸びていました。沢山の写真を撮らせてくれて、そのあと外に出て、日光浴をし始めました。全く猫の気ままな生活だなと思いました。
雲海は早朝しか見えないらしいですが、季節と天気によるそうです。早起きが苦手な私は雲海は無理だと思いました。しかし、日本で一番標高が高い城で、やっぱり上からの景色は昼でもとても綺麗でした。急な山の木々を通り抜けたら、立派な城壁が突然現れて印象的でした。姫路城などに比べたら、境内はかなり狭いですが、行きたい所へすぐ行けます。
それに、さんじゅーろーもいるから、備中松山城がすぐに私は気に入りました。

It's been getting cooler and cooler and I'm very happy with that.
How were your three-day weekends in September?
The big typhoon had been coming toward Japan and I suppose that many people were forced to stay home.
It's already October！ Time has flown like an arrow..
Thanks to not only Neo's teachers, but also the students, I've had a great time working here！
もう10月です！
先月でNEOの一員になってから丸2年が経過した、ということに気付き時間が経つのはあっという間だなあと感じています。
皆さんのおかげで日々楽しくお仕事をさせていただいているので感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。
Have you ever had any opportunities to teach someone?
If so, who did you teach? Kids? Adults?
I enjoy teaching both the kids students and the adults students, but I sometimes stumble upon something unexpected in class while teaching the kids.
私は塾で勤務をしていた時、小学生の生徒さんから高校生の生徒さんまで教える機会がありました。
Neoでもキッズの生徒さんを教えていますが、それぞれのクラスで教え方を少しずつ変えています。
それぞれのクラスの特徴があったり、重点的に教えたいところが違うからです。
NEOで勤務を始めて早2年、キッズのみんなも慣れて来てくれたのか、小学生の女の子がある日からレッスン後にホワイトボードにお絵描きをしてくれるようになりました。
その絵が可愛いこと！キッズクラスのワークブックに絵を書く宿題ページがあるのですが、みんなとても可愛らしく、そしてみんなとても上手な絵を描いてくれます。
「こんな絵心があったらなあ・・・私の通知表の図画工作の成績はもっと良かったはずだったのに・・・」と思わずにはいられません。
それくらいみんな可愛い絵を描いてきてくれます。
そんなホワイトボードにお絵描きをする女の子の姿を見て、他の女の子たちもお絵描きをするようになりました。
ドラえもんや♡など、レッスン後はいつも可愛らしい絵を見ながら癒されています。
そして、毎週どんな絵を描いてくれるんだろうとわくわくしています。
キッズクラスの生徒さんは予想できないような面白い行動や発言、リアクションをするのでいつも楽しみながらレッスンをしています。
大人クラスの生徒さんはまた違った楽しさがあるので日々楽しくお仕事をさせていただいています。

If you ask me “What’s your favorite food?” I will usually answer with “hamburgers”. I have always loved hamburgers and in recent years I have become more interested in searching for great burger shops. I have discovered that there are many great burger shops around Okayama, and even in many other areas of Japan.
Japan is not the first country you think of when you hear the word ‘hamburger’, but it is known for its delicious food. Even in a place like Okayama you can find many great shops. For example, one of my favorites is ‘Grateful’s’. It is a little bit expensive, but you can get a big set and choose from a large variety of burgers. They often have Hawaiian inspired ones too. Awhile ago I recommended this shop to one of our students and recently they told me they went and thought it was delicious. Some other great shops around town are ‘Cozzies’, ‘Raccos’, ‘Awajishima Burger’ and ‘Heap’.
If you read my last blog, I also had the chance to visit Nagasaki Prefecture last month. There, I went to Sasebo. Sasebo is a famous place for burgers in Japan. I had heard about Sasebo’s burgers a long time ago when I saw them on a TV show. I finally got to try some of their burgers, and I was impressed. They were some of the best hamburgers I have ever had.
